Oregon Business magazine has named Anthro Corporation one of the 100 Best Green Companies to work for in Oregon, based on surveys conducted in the fall of 2008. Over 30,000 employees and 372 Oregon companies participated in the surveys that rated employee satisfaction and importance of the companies’ green policies and practices.
Survey results revealed that Anthro Corporation was ranked number 13 out of the top 100 companies recognized. “These rankings reflect our company’s and employees’ continued commitment for achieving and maintaining high standards of environmental support.” said a representative from
Anthro’s Green Team. “We are happy that our efforts have been recognized.”
The 100 Best Green Employee Survey questioned employees on their organization’s dedication to sustainable practices and waste reduction, recognizing employees for green efforts, supporting green or alternate means of transportation and the commitment to making business decisions based on sustainable values.
“Being ‘green’ at Anthro is a constant work-in-process. We’ve been focusing on it since 1994 when we included this philosophy into our corporate culture, and we’re still not where we want to be. This recognition is both encouraging and an added incentive to do more,” said Cathy Filgas, Vice President and Co-founder of Anthro Corporation.
Anthro Corp. was founded in 1984. They design, manufacture, and market furniture only for high tech equipment, providing solutions for the engineering, business, medical, government, education, and home markets.
