Who's Carl? He's the original designer of Anthro's Carl's Table. And he has a very unusual talent, especially for a Swede: He plays banjo in a New Orleans Jazz Band. You weren't expecting that? Neither were we. Lucky for all of us, in between sessions of strumming on the banjo, Carl Ohlson created his innovative table, the most comfortable work station available for radiologists.
Designing for radiology is in Carl's blood. His father founded AO Medical Products (renamed AO Innovation in 2009) in the 1940s, and nearly 20 years later, Carl joined the family business. He noticed that with the advent of PACs, radiologists needed a new way of looking at their work environment. Carl's Table did just that. It was the first table to provide a complete reading room experience for radiologists; the first table built with radiologists' needs in mind.
Our radiology desks have come a long way since our original partnership with Carl. The innovative CT12 model is as strong and reliable as ever, and our newer in-house designs, ranging from Steve's Station to mobile imaging carts, are created with two things in mind: keeping you comfortable and productive.
Next time you find yourself in Stockholm, be sure to look Carl up and tell him how much you love his original, innovative design. And don't forget to ask him to play the banjo for you.
