5 A radical solution5/13/2014
Comments about eNook Pro for Flat Screen:
We designed a media lab with a strong emphasis on flexibility; no rows of desks with workstations and cable clutter, but a space that could be turned into a recording booth, a film set, a green screen studio, a classroom -- whatever it needs to be. The accuracy of the online dimensions helped us figure out that there was not only a monitor that was sized perfectly for our dream of standing-or-sitting workstations, but speakers, power strips, and Mac Minis as well. For us they hold an entire state-of-the-art media workstation, without anything outside the cabinet. The students put the computer to sleep and close it up -- the keyboard and track pad slide into 'equipment-catcher' at the back of the desk surface. When it's time to work, they unlock them, pull the work surfaces down, and by the time they've pulled the keyboards and track pads into a comfortable working position, the computers are awake and ready to go. These units (we have two so far, room for five eventually) are definitely part of the 'eye candy' of our space, and this solution impresses every student and visitor.
